IKEA Day

Drum roll please......today was our IKEA day! I know IKEA is coming to Denver, and it will be there when we move back, and I'm excited about that, but I am so glad to be near one in NY. It comes in so handy when you need "filler" furniture.

We introduced my mother-in-law to IKEA today because she had never been to one. I think she liked it. At least she came out with a bag of goodies.

I love these spinnying "egg" chairs, but I refuse to pay $80 for them. But it gives the kids something to look forward to when we go.

Grandma bought them the cool art easel with paper, a chalkboard, and a dry erase board, so we're excited to get that set up this week.

So other than my bag (OK, van full) full of goodies, my highlight of the day was the Swedish meatballs and the lingenberries. Mom even bought a jar of the lingenberries so we can have some this week while they are here. LOVE THEM!!

So Wade (who we took to the airport this morning to fly to Denver), I did bring a van full home as you can see here.
Yes, Mom and the kids sat behind those large boxes and the other van seat was put in the back. We actually fit!!! I was so excited, but it did take some help from an experienced IKEA professional to get everything in there. It was quite humorous. I got chairs for the living room....see next pic.

After naps, and a yummy (but lite) dinner, we ended our day in the living room doing puzzles and reading Christmas books. What a great ending to a great day.
We're headed into the city tomorrow since Wed-Fri it looks like snow and rain. Central Park Zoo and I think we'll take the kids to see Santa at Macy's.
PS. So the Grandma's arrived safely lastnight, although 2 hours later than expected. Yipee!!!
