The Big Boy Bed & My Knight In Shining Armor

Since Tyson is now 2, we're upgrading to a big boy bed. I'm not really sure why, other than the fact that Ava got a big girl bed on her 2nd birthday...only because we needed her crib for Tyson!

We settled on a super cool bunk bed from IKEA that has a tent on top. I want one!!! So Aunt Amy, Uncle Fred, Ava, Tyson and I ventured to IKEA yesterday for the big purchase. Tyson was well aware what we were there to shop for, so he decided to voluntarily try out various beds along the way as we made our way to the kid's section of IKEA. I felt like he was recreating Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Juuuussst right.

One of the best parts of IKEA is when you get to the warehouse and you get to switch carts and get a ride on the super big flatbed! The kids and I raced up and down the warehouse aisles while they were playing "horse-y" on the new bed box. Giddy'up!!!

Now here is my Knight in Shining Armor (although his armor became wet quickly as it was pouring rain). We were headed up I-95, just a few exits from home when the van was making a terrible noise. And it was pulling to the right. Yep, flat tire!!!! I have never had one in my life! I am SOOOOOO grateful that Fred was in the car. I mean, if you're going to have a flat, who better to have in the car than an engineer who is also a mechanic??!!! I have no idea what I would have done. The kids were asleep, it was pouring rain, and we were on the side of I-95 for crying out loud!!! Thank you Jesus for Uncle Fred.

He had that tire changed in no time.
